Finding an apartment to rent which does not require a credit check  can be difficult. Many apartment complexes and some individual landlords do credit checks on their potential occupants as a means of protecting their own interests.

    • Ask ahead of time whether or not there will be a credit check and ask what their criteria is for accepting new occupants. Knowing ahead of time whether or not you will be eligible for an apartment can save everyone a lot of time.
    • If you have had financial issues in the past, explain these to your landlord or rental office. They may be willing to make an exception for your honesty. Just be sure you hold up your end of the bargain when you sign that lease.
    • If  you are really having a problem finding an apartment for rent, try to find a smaller complex or even consider renting a house. Some individual landlords do not run credit checks when renting out their property.

I really sympathise with people who are essentially good people but due to whatever reason, money mismanagement etc they find themselves labelled as having a bad credit score. People don’t realise how it can affect your whole life.

It has happeneed to me thats why i felt I should write a few words of encouragement when I saw this article. You know not having a roof over your head is the worst thing that can happen, believe me. I started scouring the paper for apartments for rent with no credit check and I can tell you there are some unscrupulous landlords out there who prey on the misfortunes of decent people who are just going through a bit of a bad time.
